Berry Blast Post-Workout Smoothie
I know I’m not the only one who plans what they’re going to eat after a workout, during a workout, right? This smoothie is so incredible, refreshing and hydrating. It is filled with all of the vitamins and minerals you need to refuel after a killer workout (or even not so killer one too!)
Most of my mornings here in Hawai’i tend to sound a little something like this: Wake up, drink a liter of water, write in my journal, go for a run, (or do a Pilates workout or hit the gym,) drink more water, come home to shower and blend this smoothie up! This drink keeps me satiated and tastes ridiculously good. I usually blend one up and bring it for the ride on my way to the beach!
Exercise is so ridiculously important for the human body to maintain long-term health and happiness. Exercise pumps up our lymphatic system and decreases our risk of developing numerous diseases, including diabetes, and high blood pressure. Some days the only exercise I get in is a swim at the beach, surf session or bicycle ride. I love those days spent outdoors and being creative when it comes to working out. Make certain that you get yo’ body moving and try to sweat for at least 30 minutes each day, everyday. You’ll feel better, look better and want to continue to exercise more and more.
This recipe includes numerous plant based ingredients, but one of my favorite is raw coconut water. Coconut water is packed with simple sugars, electrolytes, and minerals to replenish dehydration after a serious sweat. Research shows that cytokinins in coconut water have significant anti-aging, anti carcinogenic and anti-clot formation effects! Coconut water also conditions inside the human body, so it promotes clearer skin and healthy hair!

I’ve been blending just a little Maca into my smoothie everyday for the past two years. Maca is a root vegetable grown in the Peruvian Andes. It is well known for its ability to help enhance strength and endurance. Exactly what we need during our beach body workouts! 1 TBSP. RAW MACA POWDER
1 SCOOP RAW VEGAN PROTEIN POWDER
1 CUP RAW COCONUT WATER
ICE + WATER TO BLEND
